Who am I?
That is probably the question you’re asking as you’ve come to this Substack.
Or, perhaps more specifically…
“Who is this and why should I care what he has to say?”
Well, I’ll walk you through it.
I’ve written two books—one on the 2018 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors and one on Ernest Hemingway and the myths surrounding him.
I wrote extensively for Golden State of Mind and, later and less extensively, Dub Nation HQ.
I’ve written two articles on the films of Martin Scorsese (here and here).
I’ve reviewed books and films (for examples of that work, click here).
I’ve worked as a DJ.
I’ve coached high school sports (assistant coach to girls’ varsity basketball).
I’ve been a teacher of both high school and college students.
OK, that’s a nice list of accomplishments, but why should I care?
What I hope to have articulated with this list is that I’m someone with a wide-ranging set of interests and that I’m one who can articulate (relatively) incisive thoughts about those sets of interests through writing.
What else should I know about you?

I have my newsletter sorted into different sections (if only one part of it appeals to you) but the above link will give you everything I publish here.
As of this moment, I’m not inclined to have paid subscriptions/I’ll keep all content free.
However, I will give you the option, if you enjoy what you read, to throw a little change in the metaphorical tip jar and “buy me a coffee” as it were (and I do love coffee).
Thank you in advance for even considering!
